This bag worked for my cat and me. I was worried about him clawing his way out, as I had read in some other reviews that this could be a problem. However, my cat cowered the entire 15 hour trip, so it was not an issue for me. We will see what happens when I have to transport my feisty kitty in two months (I will review again at that point). I fed my cat in the carrier for a week before our departure (and would have done so for longer if I could have) so he was less skeptical of it when the big day came. The bag is a little challenging to fit under the seat, but by compressing the leading strut while pushing the bag under the seat I was able to make it fit. I flew on Alaska and they were fine with the size since it is a soft carrier. I like that the windows have covers as I think the privacy was calming for my cat. The fact that the carrier looks like any other duffel bag is a plus, too, as it allowed me not to feel like a traveling circus. It also meant that I could sneak my cat into the passenger cabin on the bus in Mexico which led to a better travel experience for both of us.
