This carrier is well made and has a lot of new features not found on older models, for example shoulder strap hooks, removable plastic bolts, for taking it apart, and a metal grill top that can be removed to remove the pet at the vets. The plastic bolts are less likely to rust. The only problem is the carrier handle. It should be redesigned. It's not secure. My wife was carrying a cat, when the handle came off. Lots of noise.
