This particular item is a good sturdy strong guard. However, I bought the extension which was pretty pricey. I wanted the backs of the seats to be covered to resist chewing by my dogs. They are not good in riding in vehicles in the first place. My medium size dog still managed to squeeze through and wound up on the bench seat. This dog weighs sixty pounds and still slipped through.
