I'm crate training so I got this a few months ago as a temporary den for my new yorkiepoo puppy and put it in his pen. I put a cover (old towel)over the sides of it to make it a little darker inside and got a soft pet bed for the floor of it, he still loves it. I left the door off so he'd feel like he has a safe place to run to when he's nervous but wouldn't feel trapped.
