I bought the medium even though my dog only weighs 6 lbs. but needed it for the body length. I have to tighten the sides as tight as they go to keep him in straight. The tail hole is quite large and I could see how you could get dogs leg in wrong hole if they jump around. Haven't been able to take him for a good walk in it as we have had cold snowy weather since I purchased it but hope to use it in the spring. It is a good heavy quality material.
